Imagine learning to ride a bicycle by watching a YouTube video or learning to swim by reading a textbook. Concepts are sometimes difficult to grasp until we are able to put them into practice and try them out for ourselves. This goes as well for concepts and theories taught in the classroom. Quite often, we are unable to understand something unless we can see for ourselves what they really are. In the classroom, it is easy to teach children through books, whiteboards and PowerPoint slides, but very rarely, do they really comprehend what is being taught until they go home and do their homework. Countless numbers of exercises, tests and exams and practice are the only way to get learners to truly grasp what they are learning, through applying their new knowledge.
